In it's current state, it's wholly unreasonable to expect those kinds of rewards for winning the faction war. The high steel reward numbers are contingent on a FW re-balancing.

Another idea I just had: since Ubi is giving us a crack at old cosmetics, use the old idea of rotating seasonal cosmetics in for a premium steel price (emotes, outfits, weapon/armor skins). Yeah, I agree that the Battle Pass should have opened things up to allow more opportunities for in-game steel gain due to the increased sinks for steel spending, like you said. If Ubisoft want us to play their game, they must give us a good incentive to. A reward of anywhere between 5-10,000 steel is not too much and, in fact, is barely enough to advance your pass level by five. In fact there is now an additional steel sink in the battle level, where one may decide to buy the pass and then boost to level 100 to get all the unlocks right there and then (or boost 20-30 levels to get to max at the last day of the season).Īt this point, being stingy on steel is really wanting the cake and eating it, too. Money to steel exchange is therefore no longer Ubisoft's only source of income, even people who play twenty-five hours a day and have millions in steel will have to pay real money for battle pass reward. That's €40 if you buy all of them and, unlike heroes from the past years, there is no way to pay steel for the pass (only to advance your pass level) and it's temporary content, meaning you either buy now or forget about all the unlocks, which is likely to get more people to pay. Look at year four: we now have a battle pass which can only be bought with money, and there are going to be four throughout the year.

While I absolutely agree that 20,000 steel is a ridiculously high amount, a (lower) faction reward is a very reasonable idea.
